Best way to support an artist is to buy from the artist
Young Adult Class/ For Portfolio Development/Enrichment or Fun
I have a track record of turning around a failing AP program, from 0% pass rate to 100% pass rate in 7 months while I taught in public school. I was the 3rd teacher to take the position after the previous two left. I know first hand how hard it is for each teacher to offer one on one time with their students. I help to facilitate the teacher, as an outside source. Each student is given a tailored approach to their work. We go over all aspects of making their personal portfolio standout, actual work, themes, techniques, photography, and writing components if applicable. This is a win - win situation for student and art teacher.
How It's Scheduled
Portfolio classes are usually arranged around the students schedule, most of the times these classes are private due to scheduling. I'm happy to arrange classes for 2-4 students, but honestly its very hard due to the unique schdeules of the students.
Art Track Seeking Student Portfolio Development AP or IB to young adults preparing a body of work or portfolio college admissions who are planning on pursuing an art related field of study. I treat my students like artists, they take the lead and I offer guidance and instruction that often is not obtained in their daily classes, because of time restraint and class size. We will talk about all the aspects of presenting yourself and your work in a professional manner, in person, through writing and their social media presence with their work. I give them everything I wish I had known or had access to.
Non-Art Track Student I also offer portfolio development for Non-art track seeking students. College entrances today are competitive, the admissions process seeks to pick out those students who set themselves apart. I have students who love art, they are creative but they don't want to pursue art as their main study in college or they were unable to take art classes in high school. However, these students still want to demonstrate their artistic talents either for themselves or to supplement their admission packet. I work with those students, to help facitliate a portfolio that would put forth all their best skills in a professional format.

It most important to know that the student is leading this endeavor, I'm just offering extra guidance from a professional artistic viewpoint. The student prepares all of their work. I will gladly write letters of recommendation for students I have had the chance of working closely with over a period of time. I will not write recommendations for students I've met once.
